A coronavirus patient who survived for months in intensive care in Blackpool has died three months later after “never recovering” from the effects of the condition.
Roehl Ribaya spent 60 days in Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s ICU before being discharged on August 14.
However, the 47-year-old Filipino aerospace engine suffered cardiac arrest on October13, dying two days later. His secondary cause of death was given as post-Covid pulmonary fibrosis.
His widow, nurse Stella Ricio-Ribaya, told the BBC that he was “taken too soon”.
