The Metropolitan Police has issued an update on the search. “Human remains” have been found in woodland by officers searching for missing 33-year-old Sarah Everard, police have confirmed.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick told a news briefing: “This evening detectives and search teams investigating Sarah’s disappearance have found, very sadly, what appears to be human remains in an area of woodland in Ashford in Kent.”
Sarah, originally from York, went missing on Wednesday, March 3 while walking to her home in Brixton from a friend’s house in nearby Clapham.
Police have been searching land near the village of Great Chart in Ashford in Kent. Meanwhile, officers continued to search a house in Freeman’s Way in Deal.
