Charlton won 35 caps for England and enjoyed a successful career as a manager. Legendary defender Jack Charlton who won the World Cup with England in 1966 has died aged 85.

Charlton, who made 773 appearances for Leeds United in his 21-year playing career, died at his home in Northumberland on Friday, his family said in a statement.

He had been diagnosed with lymphoma in the last year and was also battling dementia.
